Hello there! My name is Bea. I’m really thrilled to be in this class! For me, effective teaching entails more than simply delivering material, which is why I enrolled in Principles of Teaching. The idea is to make learning more exciting and engaging by instilling curiosity and critical thinking. Having worked as a writer and in journalism for many years, I can definitely say that communication and storytelling are crucial in education. And I intend to bring that same energy to the classroom.
Of course, this course is an essential step in my journey toward earning my Professional Teaching Certificate (PTC). And, ultimately, becoming a teacher in English or a related subject.
Currently, I work as a content writer for a marketing agency, creating interesting content that captivates our target audiences. In addition, I am the editor-in-chief for a digital news and entertainment website. I oversee pop culture-related material. My position allows me to delve into the ever-changing world of media and entertainment, from breaking K-pop news to in-depth reports on the most recent TV shows and musical trends. While my professional expertise is in writing and digital content, I’ve always been drawn to the wonders of teaching. And the prospect of assisting others in improving their communication abilities excites me to take on this new journey.
Beyond work and academics, I am an avid reader and a (still very private) writer with several novel drafts tucked away until I muster the confidence to share them. Music is another passion of mine. I love listening to K-pop, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, and many more. When I’m not lost in books or playlists, I enjoy watching Stranger Things, The Umbrella Academy, Wednesday, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
I also have a fascination with whales and often find myself watching videos of them, as well as admiring the moon in all its phases. And if you ever need to know my favorite color, it’s blue—just like the ocean and the clear sky. I look forward to learning alongside all of you in this class!
